Adam and Grace both grew up on Orcas Island, the largest of the San Juan islands, located in the beautiful Pacific Northwest corner of Washington State. They independently made their ways down to San Diego where Adam started working as an engineer and Grace followed her passion in Fashion Design. Together since July 2006, they have spent the past 6 months putting in the groundwork for this amazing trip.
The Route
Starting in our home town of San Diego, CA, our plan is to ride down the West coast of Central and South America until we reach Santiago, Chile, at which point we'll cross the Andes and arrive in Buenos Aires. We will travel through 13 countries and anticipate a travel time of approx. 4 months to reach our destination.
The Bike
We're riding our trusty 2006 Kawasaki KLR650. We've owned this bike for 2 years now and have modified the hell out of it. She served Adam well on an off road ride down the Continental Divide in May of 2008 and, other than being a bit on the small side for two, is a great all round bit of engineering.
Oh my...too cute!
